The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Monday opened up last Tuesday on the allegations of assault, theft and battery leveled against him by the Actress, Ufuoma Ejenabor, denying that such things ever happened.
Beyond the denial, he is threatening to take a legal action against the actress who at a press conference last week, alleged, she was assaulted by the security personnel attached to the convoy of the Speaker, after hitting her Nissan X-terra car.
Reacting to Ufuoma’s claims, Ikuforiji, who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Segun Olushesi, stated that on the contrary , no security assaulted Ufoma.
His words, “On Friday, October 29, 2010, between 3 p.m and 4 p.m, on Ozumba Mbadiwe road, by Lagos Law School on Victoria Island, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly were on their way back from the burial of one of our members’ wives, when one Ms Ejenabor, who was driving a Nissan X-terra, tried to force her way into our convoy.
I was driving directly behind the pilot vehicle when Ejenabor’s car Nissan X-terra suddenly emerged from the left and in an attempt to force herself into the convoy, hit the rear left of the bumper of the pilot vehicle with her right front bumper.”
“An attempt by the policemen in the convoy to question her when they got down took a dramatic turn when Ejenabor started behaving strangely and poured invectives on the policemen who questioned her attempt to force her way into the convey.”

“This unusual behaviour continued with her insistence to join the convoy and in the process hitting the representational vehicle of the Speaker in the rear (The video footage also confirmed this action).
The uproar caused by her action lasted for more than 30 minutes and all attempts to calm her down yielded no positive result.

Following the action, the Speaker directed that she be allowed to join the convoy as we proceeded to Area 2 police command instead of LUTH as planned in order to address the matter.”
But at the police command this usual and suspicious behaviour continued as she snubbed the intervention effort of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Lateef Junaid.” the Chief of Staff stated.
He said the House will make the issue a deterrent case. While Ufuoma claimed one of the vehicles (the Pilot) in the lawmakers’ convoy hit her Nissan X-terra car, the video footage showed her car parked behind the Speaker’s, an indication of a possible contact.
Also contrary to the actress’ allegation that she lost the following items, white gold necklace, Silver Gucci wristwatch, Pink Ipod, Blackberry Bold, Channel Sunglasses and her wedding band, the video footage watched by Showtime showed that she had all the items on her.
But what we could not immediately establish is whether the Blackberry she used in making calls at Area 2 police command was the same she claimed was stolen by aides of the Speaker.
