Glo Naija Sings, Peace bows out

Olisa and Peace
They were the last four contestants standing and it was just two more weeks to go. One of them however had to leave Glo Naija Sings. It turned out to be Peace Nwokolo, having had the least number of votes from the voting public.
Casey, who seemed to have been on a downward slide weeks before last week, bounced back to reckoning as he got the highest number of votes for the week. Rasine followed closely while Da Brodas were third.
Penultimate Sunday, the contestants performed two tracks from the rich Fela repertoire and captivated the viewers with good renditions of Baba 70’s works.
Last Sunday, the three remaining contestants did one international R&B and one contemporary song each.
Casey sang Tosin Martins’ Oloo Mi, a perfect lovers’ anthem. The fast improving Casey added some sensuous spice in his rendition of the song. His second song was R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly”.
Rasine was more daring in her performance of Asa’s Jailor. Her second song was Alicia Keys’ No One which was another commendable effort.
Da Brodas proved their love and respect for the womenfolks as they sang 2Face’s African Queen. Their second song was Michael Jackson’s You Are Not Alone
The three remaining acts got the nod of the often critical Resident Judge, Tosin Martins who said that “they have moved from singers to artistes”.
This weekend, one of the three remaining contestants will be crowned winner of the Season 2 of Glo Naija Sings. The winner will smile home with a brand new RAV4, $100,000 and the honour of becoming a Glo ambassador.
